Operation Wildcat

The Mechanicsburg Area School District PTOs and Parent Advisory Committee members began Operation Wildcat to help local students and families in need. District administration has provided a storage site for Operation Wildcat at Mechanicsburg Middle School. With the support of the school board, district administration and staff, Operation Wildcat is working to help to pool the MASD community resources to help local families in need on an on-going basis. The Lions Club of Mechanicsburg is proud to support Operation Wildcat with our service volunteers and donation support.

Members of the Lions Club of Mechanicsburg recently volunteered at the Operation Wildcat Spring Yard Sale, with some assisting during setup and others helping on the day of the event. All proceeds from the sale support the many initiatives Operation Wildcat oversees in its mission to assist students and families in need. The yard sale serves as Operation Wildcat’s sole fundraiser, making the volunteers’ contributions especially meaningful

The Lions Club of Mechanicsburg proudly supported Operation Wildcat’s Project Spring for Socks—an initiative dedicated to providing new socks and underwear to families in the Mechanicsburg Area School District. Thanks to the generosity of our members, we collected an incredible 403 pairs of underwear and 201 pairs of socks during our March meetings! A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed—your kindness is making a real difference. When there’s a need, Lions step up.

Eight members of the Lions Club of Mechanicsburg spent their Saturday afternoon giving back at the Operation Wildcat warehouse. Together, we sorted pots and pans, priced items for the upcoming yard sale, and helped with some organization.

It was a productive and rewarding day filled with teamwork and a shared commitment to service. We’re grateful for the opportunity to support such a wonderful organization and make a positive impact in our community!

On Saturday, February 14, eleven Lions volunteered their time to support Operation Wildcat – Project Clothing. The group worked on a variety of important tasks, including sorting and hanging clothing, organizing hangers, assisting with Christmas tree and ornament donations, and bagging items for Community Aid.

It was a very productive morning filled with teamwork and service. Most importantly, the Lions had fun while making a positive difference in the community!
