Lions Club International provides many paths and opportunities to serve and grow with the organization locally, nationally and globally. Awards range from active participation, recruitment, leadership roles and more. As a club we have achieved many awards from the local, national and global perspective through our service and donations to people and organizations world wide. Having been in existence for over 75 years our recognition is second to none in serving and representing the Lions mission, moto and objectives.
Recent Activities
Lions of the Year Award
On July 14th The Lions Club of Mechanicsburg presented Mike and Linda Fenicle the Lion of the Year award for their outstanding contributions.
Lion Mike has been a Lion for 18 years and is a Melvin Jones Fellow. During that time, he has served our club as President, Zone Chair, Club Director, Assistant Chaplain and Chaplain and was sponsored by Lion Lana McCaulley’s late husband Tim McCaulley who served our club for many years in many ways.
His partner in service, Lion Linda has been a Lion for 13 years and has also provided outstanding leadership as Club President , Vice President and Club Director and was sponsored by our own Past District Governor Fred Lamason.
They were the driving force behind organizing our club’s first-ever National Night Out event in downtown Mechanicsburg, helping introduce our club and our mission to the community in a meaningful way. They also proudly represented our club at the first-ever Non-Profit Day ensuring our Lions Club remains visible and engaged within our community. Behind the scenes, they have spent countless hours sorting, counting, and delivering thousands of donated eyeglasses, contact lenses, and hearing aids for recycling—work that often goes unnoticed but has an incredible impact on people around the world. It is with sincere appreciation and gratitude that we recognize two outstanding Lions whose dedication, leadership, and commitment embody the very best of Lionism.
Presidential Appreciation Plaque
On July 14th, on behalf of our entire membership, Lion Ted Cramer presents a Presidential Appreciation Plaque to Lion Coco Houghtaling for her outstanding service as our 2025-26 Club President. Lion Coco has been a Lion since June of 2022 and has dedicated herself to the Service of our membership and beyond since the very beginning. Thanks for your great leadership Lion Coco!
Melvin Jones fellowship Awards
On June 23rd Lions Bill Dixon and Jeff Woodward were awarded the very coveted Melvin Jones Fellowship Award for their many contributions to the club. It was recognized that this award represented not only this year but throughout their many years in service. Thanks to LCIF Chair PCC Terry Hartzell for leading the way!

Monarchs Awards
Lions International has established a tradition of awarding Monarch awards every 5 years beginning with year #10. Our club starts with year #5! At our June 23rd meeting the following Lions received these awards:
