Red Cross/Lions Club Blood Drive
Every day, blood donors help patients of all ages: accident and burn victims, heart surgery and organ transplant patients, and those battling cancer. In fact, every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood. The Lions Club of Mechanicsburg is proud to host multiple local blood donation drives throughout the year at Trindle Springs Lutheran Church. Our Lions volunteer their time and efforts to support this worthy cause.
The American Red Cross declared its second-ever national blood supply crisis in July 2026 after donations hit a four-year summer low, leaving the nation with less than a one-day supply of type O blood. The Red Cross supplies about 40% of U.S. blood products and urges eligible donors to book appointments immediately.
Recent Activities
Zone Chair Lion Karl Heimbach organized another Blood Drive on May 21st at Trindle Springs Lutheran Church. We had 15 Lions volunteer their time & we collect 23 units of blood. Thanks to everyone who donated blood & assisted during the event!
